America promises equality, but for people of color, that promise often isn't always kept. Our stories about racism and unfairness are often not heard in common conversations.
Watching documentaries about Emmett Till and seeing old videos of people of color being badly hurt or killed just because of their race was very upsetting. It made me realize that these aren't just stories from the past; they show there's still a fight for justice today.
It's sad that the basic idea of equality always turns into a political debate. Unfair treatment by law enforcement and systemic racism still make people of color worried in their daily lives. When basic rights are used as a political tool, it only makes society more divided.
Figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X stood up for justice, inspiring people everywhere to push for big changes.
For me, reviewing these historical videos highlights why we still need to speak up, resist fear, and support policies that protect everyone's basic rights. It's about making sure everyone has fair chances without fear, and acknowledging the ongoing unfairness people still face.
